It’s Tip Tuesday, Love Birds!
It is a long-time tradition for the bride and groom to exchange gifts and a letter or note before the wedding ceremony. Some couples exchange the night before the wedding, the morning of, or opt out of the tradition entirely. We love this tradition because it helps the couple to take a moment to breathe and focus on what this once-in-a-lifetime celebration is all about.
In case gift-giving is not your love language, here are a few tips on how to choose the perfect gift for your groom or bride to be:
Consider your future spouse’s personality! Are they serious, romantic, sentimental, silly, or eclectic? This will help decide if you will choose a more traditional gift like jewelry or cufflinks or something unique like an engraved flask or personalized painting. Is your other half more practical? Make sure to find something they can get use out of in the future!
Make it personal. No matter which type of gift you decide on, make sure it means something to the both of you. Think engraved initials, a romantic detail about how you met, something you want to share in your future home together, or a token of a promise.
Set a price range. It’s never too early to start talking about finances (Yippee!). We suggest agreeing on an amount that you both will stick to for the gift. This keeps you within your wedding budget while also ensuring neither of you are going above and beyond the other person’s gift. However, you may both agree that price doesn’t matter and it’s the meaning that counts.
If all else fails, write a letter! We think the sweetest way to remind your bride/groom of your love is a handwritten note. The simple gesture goes a long way and lasts forever.
